A long time ago, in a galaxy not so far away, the success of Dogecoin (following the listing of the token on Robinhood.com) spawned a copydog coin, called Shiba Inu. This coin saw huge growth between April and May 2021, increasing in price by around 700x at it’s highest point.
The Shiba Inu team claimed to have turned the head of Doge-lover Elon Musk, when he tweeted that he was “getting a Shiba Inu”. Such was the doggy-mania at the time, that this tweet may also have contributed to the huge price surge of Shiba Inu coin.
A huge and loyal community formed around the Shiba Inu project, which built their own exchange named Shibaswap, and NFTs called Shiboshis.
Some in the Doge community criticized Shiba as a cash-grab, whereas others complained that the Shiba logo and “Doge killer” identity was aggressive, and represented a kind of “dark side” of the Doge.
Others in the Doge community began posting DOGE vs SHIB memes that made fun of Shiba Inu Coin, causing resentment and further divide on both sides.
Cute dog and crypto lovers in both communities became two isolated camps that were banging their paws on the drums of war.
And so, the SHIB vs DOGE narrative had begun, with many in the SHIB community now claiming technical superiority and greater activity than Dogecoin.
But surely both projects can succeed on their own merits? The Exodus Crypto Wallet supports both cryptocurrencies, and furthermore, will always be a supporter of intergalactic peace.
We needn't be concerned about whether or not Shiba Inu will surpass Dogecoin. Just look into the pixelated eyes of this “NFT Doge”, and let all the rancor slip away.
